One of the coolest aspects of marrying Brenda (out of so many) is the chance to visit the Kreulen Cottage on Lake Michigan near Grand Haven. Jon Kreulen's parents build the cottage in the 1950s and it has been enjoyed by the Kreulen family for generations. Nancy, Jason and Andrea have some of their fondest memories of Jon while spending time at the cottage. I remember when Brenda and I were first married and the annual summer trip to see Nancy and Jon at the cottage. It was such a treat for us to spend time a such a beautiful spot on Lake Michigan.
Nancy still gets to use the cottage a couple weeks each summer. Last week she was there with Jason. Brenda, Jimmy and Amy joined them on Wednesday night. The weather was beautiful and the lake was warm. They said that the waves were wonderful too. Since Jason and Nancy had to leave the cottage on Friday, they came down to Kalamazoo to see us for a couple of days. We went to Bells for beers and also took a walk at Celery Flats (to work off the beer). During the walk, I caught Amy and Jason in deep meditation (see photo).
