Another new tradition at the cabins is a bike ride from Beulah to Frankfort. We first did the trip two years ago as part of Craig's 50th birthday celebration. We are able to rent bikes at Crystal Adventure Sports for $10 for a two hour period. The Betsie Valley trail goes along Crystal Lake and consists of gravel and paved paths. It is a beautiful, 20 mile, round trip. The favorite part is getting Moomers ice cream in Beulah at the end of the trip. Moomers is a Traverse City company that makes delicious ice cream. Today I had chocolate cherry ice cream.
This was the first year that Emily was able to come. She brought along Mamie Beth who rode behind Emily in a tag along bike. She was a real trooper and peddled the whole way.
The favorite cabin memory today is courtesy of Philip.
