A Great Graduation and Houston Trip
Brenda, Laurel, Popi, Tommy and I all visited Houston to attend Keith's gradation from Baylor College of Medicine and to visit Mike and Linda. We had a party for Keith at the McCormick resort on Monday and the ceremony was on Tuesday evening. The Vollink's joined in the fun as well and at the Monday party, Evan, Amy, Patrick and Jen came to celebrate (medical school friends). Everything was perfect - a wonderful way to wrap up Keith and Lisa's four years in Houston. Baylor was a great choice and Lisa gained some great teaching experience at Bain Elementary.
But they will miss all of their Houston friends
I have included several great photos. The entire collection will be on Brenda's Facebook page shortly.
First in Line - Again!!!
Many of you know that Brenda loves to get the best seat at graduation. For years, we have arrived at the graduation ceremonies (both high school and college) at ridiculous times to wait in line for the doors to open. Despite our insistant pleas not to leave so early, Brenda always gets us all to leave anywhere from two to three hours before the ceremony. So guess what happened at the Keith's medical school graduation
? The pictures say it all.
Watch what you do at the McCormicks!
We were at Mike and Linda's celebrating Keith's graduation and Camille was there with her two new puppies. The puppies were much more playful than Mike's dogs and Pepper, in particular, was not happy about their youthful exuberance.
So the other night when Pepper had enough, he bite Camille's dog on its leg. Camille's dog howled in pain. Pepper was instantly scolded and Mike announced that Pepper needed to be fixed. Personally, I don't think the punishment fits the crime. But I am not going to take my chances. Nothing but my best behavior at the McCormick Resort. Bryan, Keith and Phil - you are forewarned.

Grandma has an IPad.
For Mother's Day, Grandma received an iPad 2 from her four sons. She really wanted a way to
Skype and FaceTime with her family plus check in on the news and respond to emails. Grandpa does like it when she is holed up in their bedroom working on the computer, so the iPad gives her the chance to work from the living room or kitchen. Another plus is is can read the local paper everyday since The Grand Rapids Press on delivers in hard copy three days a week.
She if you haven't video chatted with Grandma yet, give it a try!

Big Winnings at the Kentucky Derby
I have long believed that if you are not skilled at a particular task, pay someone to do it for you. Well on Saturday we were invited to a Kentucky Derby party and I had the opportunity to bet on the horses. I have no idea how to bet on horses and didn't even know the name of one horse running. Chad, however, seemed to know everything and continued to talk about the horses, jockeys, trainers, previous races, etc. So I, very intelligently, hired Chad to place my bets. I gave him $20 for two bets and we planned to split the winnings. Chad was brillent and I won $260 dollars. So after paying Chad his 1/2, I walked away with $130.
