When all the kids were home this week, we had a chance to play some Backyard VB (volleyball).
When Laurel was in 7th grade, I bought a volleyball net thinking she would enjoy using it to practice for the school volleyball team. Instead, the boys instantly took it over. Bryan, Keith and their friends played many games and all hours of the day and in all types of weather. On Wednesday, Keith had Eric Carnes, Curt Carnes and Craig Van Dyke over to play. I think it was the first time in a couple years that they were all together to play.
On Thursday and Friday, Bryan and Laurel came home and we played some more. While our skills were not sharp, we did surprise ourselves. It brought back many memories and good times. Check out the action below:

In Laurel's defense, she did use that net quite a bit to practice her serves. I also remember when the boys would play backyard volleyball in the snow every once in awhile.
Me and my friends actually our first official backyard volleyball game! It went pretty well, and we followed all the backyard rules including the super serve. I'm hoping to revitalize backyard volleyball at the Mulder household, even though our neighbor's fence probably wishes we weren't.
Back... YARD!
I miss this very much.
