Before Keith and Lisa left for Texas today (they were home during their summer break), we had two days with all the kids home. This was the first time since Christmas 2008. From the time Philip was born (1992) until Bryan left for Kenyon College (2002), we always had our kids home. Even since 2002, we had many opportunities to reconnect at home. But since Bryan and Jessie have moved to Chicago and Keith and Lisa have moved to Houston, our family reunions are going to be harder to arrange. I remember how special it was to my Mom when I would come home with all three of my brothers. As a parent, you know and want your kids to grow up and move on. But Brenda and I do miss the interaction with our kids and the real joy we have in being with them and our daugther in laws. It is so fun to play games with them and laugh. We are blessed with wonderful children.
