Unbelievable March Weather
86 degrees on March 21st - a record high for the month of March. It has been over 70 degrees everyday for two straight weeks. When I called Keith yesterday, it was 64 and raining in Houston and 85 and sunny in Kalamazoo. Looks like Keith are Lisa are moving back at the right time!

Anesthesiology At The University of Michigan
The big (and best) news of this week is that Keith matched for his anesthesiology training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This was Keith's first choice and is a top program with outstanding facilities. The March Day was exciting and we are glad that we came down for the event. Lisa and Keith are thrilled to move back to Michigan and be closer to family (especially Sara).
Going to Baylor was a great decision as Keith received top notch training and they enjoyed their time in Houston. They will miss Mike and Linda's family and many good friends that they made here in Houston.
They will move in June and have started the process of finding an apartment and a job for Lisa. Keith starts on July 1st. His first year, the intern year, will be very intense and include an overview of all the areas of medicine. The following three years will be in anesthesiology with a possible 4th year in a fellowship. Unlike the cost of medical school, Keith will start to earn a pay check - Lisa is thrilled.

A Really Cool Pool
We have been in Houston this week for Keith's Match Day and of we spent a few days with Mike and Linda. Every time I visit the McCormick Resort, I am stuck by the beauty of their pool. It is the most beautiful backyard pool I have ever seen. If Brenda and I ever do a pool in Michigan, I would love to use a similar design (we would just have to find some foliage to replace the palms).

Drinking Beer at Rice
We are visiting Houston this week to attend Keith's Match Day for his residency. We came several days early to enjoy Houston with Keith and Lisa. This afternoon we went to Valhalla, the graduate school bar at Rice University.
It is run by the graduate students but is open to anyone, if you can find it. To enter, you open a solid wood door which has no signage. Keith knew about the bar from several of his medical school classmates who attended Rice It is only $1.50 a glass for some wonderful beers on tap.
We took our beer outside and sat in the courtyard - it was a beautiful day.
It felt weird drinking beer in the middle of a college campus.

Jeremy Bronson makes it on Cliff Notes

Bryan's good friend (and one of my most loyal Cliff Notes readers) Jeremy Bronson came down from Grand Rapids to see Matilda. It was great to see Jeremy and his visit made me realize that Jeremy has never made it on Cliff Notes. The editor apologizes for this grave omission. Jeremy - it is our honor to have you featured in a Cliff Notes posting.
