This weekend Mark and Andrea brought Avery to visit all of us in Portage. Of course the highlight was Avery's chance to meet her Bispopi and Bisnoni. We spent time with Noni and Popi on both Saturday and Sunday. They were so proud to meet their first great grandchild. Nancy also drove over from the Kreulen Cottage so we could take the official four generation photo.Mark and Andrea are such great parents. Watching them with Avery brought back so many memories. Avery is very sweet and sleeps really well at night. They used Bryan's bedroom on the main level. Jimmy and Karen also came over to have dinner and meet Avery.
We did our best to have Noni interact with Avery. Most of the time, it appeared that Noni wasn't aware that a baby was in front of her. She would look past Avery and try to focus on the person holding Avery. But the most wonderful reaction occurred just before they left. Avery started to cry and fuss (something she does very rarely). Andrea was holding Avery trying to calm her when Noni got our of her chair and went close to Avery and Andrea. In Italian, Noni started to tell Avery to go to sleep and that we were all here. She was very concerned and wanted to help calm Avery. Avery's crying must have triggered a memory for Noni. As we all know, Noni was the absolute best at holding and calming a crying baby. It was a precious site. Brenda took a long video and I will try to get it on a future blog posting.

Aw, the noni-Avery event must have happened while I was gone! I think that Avery may be the first of many little ones to come through the Mulder house in the future...
