On our 2011 Italy trip, we once again included a visit to Tuscany. We stayed in two different locations (see posting on Frances Lodge) and went to Siena, Pienza and Florence. The beauty of Tuscany is breath taking and the food is healthy (ok, maybe not the gelato) and tasty. We spend one night in Florence and also went back for a day trip by train from Siena. The sights of Florence are amazing, but it is a large busy Italian city. We will have to visit sometime in the fall or spring when it is cooler and less crowded.
The best part of Tuscany is relaxing: enjoying a beautiful view, a good glass of wine, and the slow pace of life.
