We arrived yesterday. So to keep all of our family and friends updated on our trip, I will be doing daily updates on my blog. Our flight left Chicago at 2:00 am. It was a 4 1/2 hour direct flight to Guatemala City. David (our host) arranged to have a driver waiting for us to make the three hour drive up to Lake Atitlan. As you will see from the photos I post this week, the house and surrounding countryside is beautiful. We arrived to the house around 11:00 am. The sun was shining and it was 80 degrees. Since we had only slept a couple of hours on the plane, we spent the day sleeping and laying by the pool. Before dinner we ventured to the hotel next door for drinks and returned to the house for dinner at 7:30. Our cook for the week (yes, we have our own private cook) make a wonderful dinner. It was better than any gourmet resturant. I will talk more about the food in a later posting.
So here are a few photos from Sunday. I will give you an update on Monday's activities when I return tonight.
