Philip Nails a Perfect Score

The 2010 high school forensics season is in pull swing and Philip is once again doing extemporaneous speaking. In this event, he is given a current issue and only has 30 minutes to prepare a seven minute speech. Last year he was 3rd in state.

Saturday he competed in a tournament at Holland High School. Not only did he finish first, but he was the only student at the tournament (out of more than 100 kids) who received a perfect score. He received the highest score possible in each of the five rounds.

WAY TO GO PHIL!

A quick correction: I was only competing against about 19 of those more than 100 kids for my first place, so I didn't beat all 100! However, it is true that none of the kids in the other events received a perfect score.

Thanks for the congratulations dad!
