For Philip's senior spring break, we took a seven day cruise with his best friend Alex Billedeaux and Alex's parents Bruce and Sharon. The Princess Cruise left out of Fort Lauderdale and we made stops in Princess Cay (a small private island), St. Maartens, St. Thomas and Grand Turk. This was our first cruise and we all enjoyed a very relaxing trip. Our ship, The Ruby Princess, is a beautiful ship and we were very impressed with our room. Of course we had plenty of food and the ship offered some wonderful entertainment. Some of the unique activities included dancing classes, wine tastings, some great comedians and a cooking demonstration. Here are some pictures from the trip:

Brenda with Sharon and Bruce. The ship had a four story atrium and was beautifully decorated

Phil and Alex spend so much time together they soon started to dress alike.

Sitting on the back of the ship. The weather was 85 degrees and sunny everyday.

On the island of Princess Cay. Our ship was really
big
In front of a beach bungalow that we rented on the island - gave the boys a place to play Magic.

Off on a banana boat ride - just the boys. I wanted to save my back

We walked by the ship's bakery several times a day. And Brenda is still skinny! As for me?

The balcony of our room. We had coffee, tea and yogurt delivered to our room every morning.

At our wine tasting. The ship had a wonderful, and affordable, wine list.

The ship had two formal dining nights. Out of the swimsuits...into the dress suits

The ship was built near Noni's home Italy. When Brenda and I visited Italy in 2009, one 0f Brenda's cousins talked about his job building cruise ships and that they had just finished a ship for Princess. A small world.

We had two great snorkeling trips - one at St. Maartens and one on Grand Turk. Lots of fish, coral reef, a sea turtle, a barracuda and a nurse shark. One of our favorite activities.

On the snorkeling trip. Coming into St. Maartins on Hobie Cat sailboat.

On the island of St. Thomas. Beautiful water (and family members).

St. Thomas had the most beautiful beaches. Phil continued the Mulder sand castle tradition.

Bruce, Alex, Phil and I took out jet skis in St. Thomas. A beautiful way to see the island.

Did I mention that they had plenty of food on the boat?

On of the ship's entertainers. The Checkerboard Guy was amazing.

Phil and Alex managed to make lots of friends - so they weren't stuck with their parents.

We rented a car on St. Thomas. Of course you drive on the left had side (which I did) but the cars are American so judging the center line is a challenge. In addition, the roads are extremely narrow. Here Bruce is holding the side view mirror after I manged to clip it on a passing car. We understand that this is a common experience on the island. It was scary having the mirror and broken glass fly by us at 30 miles an hour.
