During the junior year at the Kalamazoo Math and Science Center, students do their big research project. Philip was selected to complete a Rube Goldberg project. Rube Goldberg (1883-1970) was a cartoonist and inventor best know for his cartoons depicting complex devices that perform very simple tasks. His devices are simply known as "Rube Goldberg Machines".http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rube_Goldberg
Since it takes two people to assemble the machine, Philip and I got to work side by side the last three weeks designing, building and testing the machine. He spent over 30 hours on the project. Next week will be his big public presentation. It came out really cool. Check out the video:
