The Winter of 2014

It might be a little early to say "this is one for the record books", but we have had a good, old fashioned Michigan winter this year.  We have not seen the black top on our driveway since 12/27 and the snow fall total for January set a 40 year record.  In fact, our snow plow guy had to come 14 times in just January.  When I walk through the yard, the snow is easily over my knees.  In addition to the snow, we have experienced the "polar vortex".  Whereas last winter we had only a few days below 10 degrees, most of January has been below 10 degrees with many nights dipping well below zero.

Next week Brenda and I head to Florida for client meetings - I can't wait!!

The cold mornings have created some amazing sunrises!

My best indication that this is an unusual winter is the number of times I get an email from our mail room that FedEx is doing an early pickup on account of weather. In a typical winter I may get that email once, but this year it feels like it is every other day.
