It has been over 90 degrees all week so last night we headed down to the neighborhood pool (Shannondale). We had a full membership at Shannondale for years but we current only pay for guest passes. Visiting the pool was almost a daily occurrence when our kids were young. Everyone has great memories of Shannondale.
Part of the pool experience was "gutter ball" This game is played with 2 - 4 players. You take opposite sides of the pool and try to throw the water ball past your opponents and into the pool gutter. You score 1 point for a ball in the gutter and the other team scores a point if the ball goes out of the pool. If the ball goes between the ladder and sticks in the gutter, you score two points. You play up to 15 and must win by two points. Tommy, Laurel, Phil and I played several games. It was so much fun. I believe that we created the game of gutter ball at Shannondale and it has provided many hours of entertainment.
