I had a great birthday yesterday! It started with a tasty, heart healthy breakfast by Brenda. At work, my two assistants, Stacy and Julie, surprised me with a office of balloons and many of my coworkers may disparaging remarks about the aging process (all in good nature). Phil, Laurel, Tommy, Brenda and I went to a new downtown restaurant for dinner - The Gatsby. It was a great choice and we will definitely go back. I also cashed in on the gifts. Laurel bought me a lemon flavored vinegar and fine virgin olive oil (very heart healthy - seems to be a theme of turning 50). I received a cool Kalamazoo College beach towel from Philip and Bryan, Jessie, Keith and Lisa went in on Apple TV. Can't wait to hook it up and see all the great features. We will all be able to view Cliff Notes on the big TV! To top it off, I had a wonderful strawberry cupcake by Laurel and her fabulous pretzel rolls.
