My Best Birthday Ever!!

Special Cliff Notes Posting Written by Matilda Mulder

Grandpa Cliff asked me to write down by thoughts about my first birthday party.  While I know that some of you will be surprised that I can write at the age of one, you shouldn't be.  After all, my Mom is an English teacher.  What do you think we do all day??

First of all, I just want to thank everyone who planned my party.  The "Brown Bear Brown Bear" theme was an awesome idea - after all it is my favorite book.  Mom put together the coolest decorations and had excellent help from Nona, Aunt Lisa and Aunt Sara (ok, Sara isn't really my Aunt, but I think she is because I have a hard time telling them apart).  Of course the real treat was all the desserts made by Aunt Laurel.  The black sheep cake pops were beautiful and I absolutely loved my cupcake.  I can't believe she has time to be a doctor and bake!!

What really surprised me is how many people showed up.  It was really special to have my Great Grandpa and Grandma Walker and my Gigi (that is Grandpa Cliff's mom - in case you didn't know).  Even Great Uncle Dean showed up!  Kevin, Bea and Lisa drove all the way from Toledo!

I have been playing with all of my presents.  Luckily, I have a large playroom at my house in Chicago and Mom and Dad don't care how many toys I have out at one time.  It was also cool to show off at my party.  I think people were a little surprised that I could read "Peek a Who".  I also looked stunning in my red birthday dress (if I say so myself).  I am so glad that Nona and Laurel love to shop for me.

I asked Grandpa Cliff to add a few of my favorite photos from the party.  By the way, I have been counting and I now have 2,673 photos of myself.  That is nearly seven for every day of my life - wow, I must be really cute.
