An Update on the Mulder Kids (including the Lisa and Jessie)

For all of you that we have not seen over Christmas, I thought I would give you a quick run down on the kids and their latest activities:

Bryan and Jessie: He started his law job with Sidley in mid November. Currently things are not too crazy, but a number of the partners are off for the holidays. His practice group, Intellectual Property Litigation, has some big trials coming up in January and it will pick up quickly. So far so good. Jessie has been accepted into the Masters Program at Roosevelt University. So in addition to teaching, she will have classes three nights a week. Wow. I hope they aren't too busy to enjoy Chicago. They are in their apartment for at least another 6 - 12 months and then will start house/condo hunting in Chicago. Citigroup bank provides a "private banker" to the Sidley Law firm who can help them with their mortgage.

Keith and Lisa: Keith is finally done with his medical school classes, YEA!!! He starts rotations next week and begins with neurology. Now he gets to be a "student doctor" and get the real experience. It should be a very interesting next 2 1/2 years. Lisa school year is going very well. Her school made some changes to special education and she likes the new structure much better. They continue to live in the same cool apartment complex near the museums and Texas Medical Center.

Laurel: She had her best semester yet at U of M despite having a very difficult schedule. Laurel starts a MCAT prep class in January and takes the MCAT (medical college admissions test) in May. Her current plan is to apply to medical schools this summer for admission in the fall of 2011. She is also continuing as a paid study leader for the Biology and Chemistry departments.

Philip: He really enjoyed having his siblings home and the opportunity to plan numerous Wii games, X-box games and board games. Phil recently got back his national PSAT exam and scored in the 99% (which happens to beat his three siblings). This may get him into the National Merit Scholarship competition next fall. Phil's forensics season starts soon and he is very excited to shoot for #1 in the state (last year he was #3 with two seniors ahead of him)
