For the last several years, Brenda and I have gone to Chicago to see the Christmas lights and visit the Christkindlemarkt. This German market is set up in Daly Plaza near the hugh Macy's on State Street and only a couple blocks from Bryan's office. All of the vendors come from Germany and set up the market from Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve. Our favorite part of the market is drinking the gluwein (a spiced, hot red wine) in the annual souvenir mug. Nothing is better on a cold December day in Chicago. Off course the brats, potato pancakes and stollenare wonderful too. It reminds us of our college days and the time we spent in Germany.
