When we first bought our home, we did not have enough time to walk all 17 acres. So over the last six months, we have finally explored every square inch of our land as we put in hiking trails and searched for our lot lines. For the most part, we have been pleasantly surprised. The property is home is so many different animals, trees and plants and is very hilly. But we also noticed the area on the property where the burn barrels were located.
Most homes in the county had burn barrels and a "dumping site". Ours was initially covered in leaves but as fall and winter set in, we could see more and more of the trash. Phil and I removed a lot of it in November and on Saturday, Brenda and I set out to clean out the rest. After fours hours, the task is done. Here is just a small sample of what we found. If you want to know what a pull tab Budweiser can from the 1970's looks like, just ask us - we found many.
